Do you have space for a 'normal' cooker as well? I have a couple of friends with agas and they also have another cooker for everyday cooking, saves them quite a lot of money in running it. Also, if this is a joint cost for electric and gas, make sure you're doing everything to keep the electric down, if you know the gas is going to be high its easy to ignore the other ways of cutting down.0

I suspect that 99% of the population heat their houses and cook at far less a cost than £320 pm. However.... I will say no more.0

Lol sorry I didn't mean it to sound harsh. It's just because next to the sum you had income support as one of the things in brackets!#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000

Its OK, I didn't read it as harsh.
The budget spreadsheet I have isn't the best really, lacks detail. Should have made my own really.DFW Long Haul Supporter #197 Est June 2015

Hello Speedys! it is true that whatever you earn you will always find a way of spending it. At least you recognise there are potential problems having that level of debt. Talking about gas bills, we have a combination microwave oven which we can use as a convection oven, do combination methods of cooking as well as microwaving. If you get one of those and study the manual, you will learn how to cook meals without putting the Aga on unnecessarily. (Obviously if it's on already for heating the house you can use what heat is there for keeping things warm or for slowcooking.) Planning a week's menues and organising things so you don't have the oven on for just one thing can help cut costs. One life - your life - live it!0
