Does everyone agree that driving is a must anywhere in Florida?0 -

That sounds interesting. How much would you be looking at paying for a flight there?0 -

Absolutely- but its a pleasure, take a sat nav and you cant go wrong. I liked Coco Beach. Fly to Orlando and an hour away in the car.

They are willing to give anywhere a try so any other suggestions that people have would be appreciated. They are keen to avoid holidaying in the Euro Zone though.
Wolfsong - Thanks for the Carolinas tip.0 -
It's not just my opinion:Kenny_Powers wrote: »Are you serious?
The only problem we found with the Keys was the occasional bit of wind.
It baffles me how you can dismiss the Keys yet recommend St Augustine
http://floridakeystreasures.com/Beaches/keysbeaches.shtmlFlorida Keys Beaches. While the rest of Florida has some of the best sandy beaches in the world, the Fabulous Florida Keys are not known for there long expanses of sand beach. This is not to say there are no Florida Keys sand beaches, just that most are on the small side and often man-made beaches.
Reviews of St Augustine:

But this comment made me laugh:went to St. Augustine for a tour few times. It's fun! It's the oldest city in the world and was discovered in 1565.
Obviously USA = The World.0 -
South Carolina beaches are absolutely stunning, I definitely recommend staying around there - lots of places along the coast with masses of rental villas. I loved Charleston, which is a great walking city and a reasonable driving distance from Hilton Head.
Depends what they're looking for. I don't think Florida is a good reflection of the US! Its mainly full of Brits......Great for the theme parks but not much else imo.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

I hear the Texas beaches are stunning with added advantage of being a bit different from Florida.0
