In reply to the previous poster, my wife has CFS/ME and to everyone looks ok but is in agony most of the time. It is about time that disabled parking bays were better used for the peope who need them.
Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.

I agree disabled spaces should be left clear but I don't see why so many spaces need to be kept for families with children?? Aren't they able to walk or what? My local tesco has prob around 80 or so spaces for mums and kids - they run amock in the store so why not in the car park too

Its hard carrying a kid managing a toddler etc across the car park to get into the store, or to the door where the trollies are. Many people have more than one child to cope with in a potential danger zone.

Also you should be happy that the parents with children are parked away from you - kids open car doors without thought adding dents and dings to other vehicles. I will personally wait until a parent with child space is free rather than park elsewhere in Tescos. I could manage my 4 year old (with difficulty) across the car park but I don't want to come back and find dings in my car.

What really gets my goat is that the disabled people think they have the right to the parent with child spaces, but you don't have the right to theirs! I'd like to challenge them sometimes to carry a heavy baby seat across to find the trollies to put them in . I felt especially sorry for a woman who was ticketed in our tescos when she parked in a disabled bay - she had one of these very heavy baby seats to manage.
The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j

Just been to Tesco after tea time, I noticed the new signs say £70 after 2 hours, I thought wow thats a lot. Mind you it must be abused the Tesco's is right in town and most of the streets have parking permits in.

Not convinced these fines have any legal force. Youll get threats of bailiffs, etc. but without it going to a court of law its not enforcable.
So many posts, so little sense :o:D

Is it so bad if the odd child get's hit? It would teach them some road sense.

OK I'm joking about that :o:p

Yeah I see where you're coming from there - personally I think all car park spaces should be wider and people who are crippled at parking competently should have a special "lame !!!" section for them where they can bash each others doors out among themselves. I can do any parking manouvere first time (mostly :o) and well within the white lines too :D
