Tesco are evil - that shouldn't come as a shock to you.

They might be generous from time to time, but they're still inherently evil

EDIT: I've got nothing against stopping and fineing people in diabled bays who shouldn't be there - it's disgusting. I don't like the way they slap charges on for parking too long.

They run the car park for my local Morrison. They do it to ensure the car park is used for the retail outlets only and not used by office staff as free parking.
  • Is that in all Tescos? Seems ironic to do it in a larger stores with their cafes and extended range of goods.

Most of the people I see in the disabled bays at my local are perfectly abled, that kinda sucks but its not Tescos fault, some people are just out to play the system without caring about the consequences to those really in need.

Although I agree that there are perfectly able bodies people parking in disabled bays when they shouldnt do, there are many illnesses that arent visible that cause people to have a disabled badge. For instance people with ME/CFS (like myself) can barely walk without extreme pain, the person can look absolutely fine but be in agony.

I think Tesco have done right in putting the signs up and giving out fines for people parking in disabled bays when they shouldnt. I also think that 2 hours is perfectly adequate for doing shopping and even having a drink or meal at the cafe.

I agree completely with the disabled bit, but doesn't it annoy you to have to pay per hour in an NCP car park when you could park for free? It's not usually in cities, where you don't have a choice, but in towns, where the supermarket is the best carpark to use. If you can't get free parking, you'll just go elsewhere and the local shops lose out.

They do it in my local Tesco. It's at the bottom of a tradtional high street with a market place, so it's to stop people parking for free and not shopping in Tesco, as the council car parks charge. It's very difficult to get parked there on market day.

There's a man walks round with a PDA noting down car registrations and will issue a ticket if you've been there for more than 2 hours. I have to either catch him or leave a message at store reception for him if I'm going to be merchandising in store for more than 2 hours, so I don't get a ticket!
Here I go again on my own....

My local Tescos in Manchester has a 3 hour time limit.

But then again who takes three hours to do their shopping, i mean i use one of Tescos Hypermarkets with three young children and it has never taken me anywhere near that long.

But i think they should also add the £50.00 fine to those parking in the parent and child spaces.

In my local somerfield they have euro car parks with 2 hour limit but across the road there is a sainsburys and they fix no limit.

So guess where I park  But I do often pop in on the way back to the car to pick up a few bits and pieces so they do get my custom.

I think it will become more and more common for parking to be limited during normal working hours 9am-5.30pm to two hours in supermarket car parks.

In another local town I have choice of either paying for parking or not. I tend to go for the not and walk to the other end of town. Which is less than half a mile.

But it seems there are lot of able bodied people who seem to loose the use of there legs when it comes to car parks.

Personally I prefer to park the furthest away from everyone else so no little nasty person can dent my car and then run away not leaving a note.
