Are phones4u online ok to use?
I want to get an iphone and would rather do it online as can get £50 cashback but after speaking to my local phones4u store they have advised not to do it online.
The bloke at the store said that 87% of the phones sold online are refurbs and that if i get a problem/fault i am likely to have a hard job getting hold of them.
He also said that i would not be able to go instore for help if purchased online.
I know they say all they can for a deal and I was pretty shocked he would say that about the company he works for, but he has got me thinking about it now.
I just wandered has anyone purchased off the site and what the would suggest?

Thanks in advance for ANY help!

Firstly, I would say he's feeding you some !!!!!!!! to get a sale. Some of it may be true, for instance Orange shops don't want to know if you've got a problem with a phone you bought online. I'd be very surprised if 87% of online sales are refurbs.
Secondly, and more importantly, which cashback site are you looking at, as some of them seem to exclude the Iphone from their cashback?0

Balls. Infact, just because he's talking carp, I'd take my sale online anyway, so he doesn't hit his targets. To rub salt in the wound, speak to his manager and tell him that they've lost a sale because of his BS.The bloke at the store said that 87% of the phones sold online are refurbs0

We in Orange Retail are a separate sales channel to Online or going Direct. If you buy online and want the discount then you should be prepared for this as it is essentially a self service option. Customer services are there to answer your queries, Orange Retail are not. If you bought the phone instore then that would be a different matter, we would provide all the support we could offer. At the end of the day we are there instore to sell products if you are not going to buy instore then support for your agreement is provided by Customer Services, i.e. the people who your sales contract is with.
As for online sales unless specifically stated all products you buy are brand new, Orange run a refurb section but if you browse generally and also on P4U then all products are brand new.0

Bad news. You can't buy an iPhone online from Phones 4U. Their website ask you to buy instore or on the phone.
So yes he was talking absolute tosh BUT you can't get it through that channel. Go direct with the network. Phones 4U are awful. I hate how pushy the staff are.0
