We have cut down this year and will be
children/stepkids aged 13-20 .........£50 each ( probally vouchers )
grandchildren x 3..........................£30 each

So total of £360
Last year we spent over £1000  and decided no more so have cut down this year. I have been saving £50 a month which covers birthdays and christmas presents for above and will be doing it again next year.
Stepkids do not know yet they ae getting less this year, now that will be fun lolTOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
I havent a clue how much i have spent on christmas but one thing i Do know for sure is that i haven't paid full price for anything (unless i've bought it from the £shop)
A few years ago i would have had a list and would have done it all over 1 weekend and paid whatever the price said, but then i discovered MSE and i have been picking up bargains since may and putting them to one side.
I set a budget but its very flexible, some things never get reduced no matter where you look.
Tesco, boots, quidco, WH Smith & cokezone have all contributed greatly to my massive santa sack this year.
Next year i will be even more organised.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

Well I have a MASSIVE family and so spend a bit more, however bought my first xmas gifts in April so spread it quite well, quite glad too as we moved into a new build 2 months ago which has eaten any money I might have had, so here goes ....
DH - £60
DD - £160 total (Xmas and birthday combined)
DS - £100 total
Mum and Dad - £30
Mother in Law - £30
Father in Law and his wife - £35
Sister in Laws family - £20
Brother in law - £15
my 4 brothers - £35 total
God-daughter - £20
Works secret santa - £10
Friends secret santa - £15
Which makes £530 in total! Much better than the 1k+ of last year (think I need a lie down after working all that out!):p0 -
I added mine up last night, and it isn't a pretty sight. I have spent around £450 each on my 3 children, plus around £200 in total for other family members.
And this year I have been careful!! Last year was even more...
Doh!
Edit to add - I did have £900 in shopping vouchers from Park Hampers so have been saving all yearCheer up. The worst is yet to come - Mark Twain0 -
Well I only buy family and don't spend on friends as we have a mutual understanding that it gets too expensive so:
£250 Fiance
£100 Mum
£100 Dad
£80 Brother
£15 (OHs bro and SIL, as we buy their daughter)
£50 OHs nieceMarried 1st October 2015:heartpuls
1st Baby due June 2016 :happylove0 -
OMG!!!!...I'm either scrooge, downright stingy or just plain old POOR!
Compared to what others have listed (some of them a small fortune to me) I spend very little
.
m&d (plus outlaws) - £10 each (Total £40)
my kids x 4 - £20- £30 each (Total £120)
Me & oh - £0
I don't buy for anyone else...I just can't afford it. The amounts above are also top-end....If I can spend less, I will!

Half-pint - your not tight, you do the right thing by only buying what you can afford and not get into debt, that is 1 gift im sure your children wouldnt like to recieve.
Out of interest how old are your children, its much easier to spent a lot less when they are very little, if i tried to spend that little on a teenager, i think they'd call childline claiming some sort of xmas present neglect.
I have spent £50 on my 10 week old daughter - mainly a highchair and a few rattles. She'll get a bit more after xmas on new clothes hopefully in the next sale.
As we are moving house 3 weeks before xmas - i have included a lot of bedroom stuff that they will need like new character duvets, curtains etc as xmas presents. When i buy toys for xmas i always think storage, so they usually get something to go in their rooms to store all there new gifts.
My other 2 kids (2&7) have had about £200 each spent on them.
2 nieces about £20 each and all other family members about £10 each with a few handmade gifts thrown in.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
