Searching for my posts - problems

Options
Since the new upgrade whenever I click on my username and then click onto 'find all posts made by flutterbyuk25' it does not bring up my most recent ones. Today I have posted on the OS board, but if I click on the 'find all posts...' the latest one on the list is one from yesterday

Any ideas why this is happening and if it can be put back to normal?

TIA

There is currently a fault with the updating of the forum search index.

Where previously the index would update within a few minutes (or even seconds sometimes) of making a post, now it can (sometimes) in extreme cases take over half an hour.

Very very very very very irritating. :(

There isn't any setting you can change to fix it.

We'll just have to hope that the MSE techie team sort it out.

  • Thanks for the explaination fermi.

It is so irritating! I have trouble remembering where I've posted at the best of times so I rely on this tool!

    I know. :(

I was trying to urgently find the recent posts by a user the other day, but simply couldn't find where they had posted for ages.

I could tell from their profile/postcount that there must be new posts somewhere, but the forum wouldn't show me where. Very frustrating. :undecided

I thought it was something I'd done too! If I click on 'all subscribed threads' the only ones that appear are about a month old.

That might be a separate issue.

Webby has recently switched everyone's settings so that you no-longer automatically subscribe to a thread when you post on it.

Can be changed back. Two secs.....................

    This is what they did:
    1. From 10pm this Thursday, October 8th, we are taking the Forum down for an hour to delete a large number of old subscriptions - every thread that hasn't been updated for 6 months of more will have it subs removed.

    2. We are going to switch everyone's automatic thread subscription setting to "Do not subscribe". If you want to change this,. you will need to go into your User CP - Edit Options - Messaging & Notification section and change the setting back.

You can change the default behaviour back by doing this:

Would be nice if any changes in default behaviour were notified in weekly emails. This isn't hte first time defaults have been changed.
