Hope it helps.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
take a look here at http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=234
they have a great forum for satnavs
but i highly recomend one of the TomTom range
slightly more expensive but a good quality range of satnavs0 -
I've gone for the dell axim (I think it's a 520) & BT GPS receiver with tomtom software.
let me know if thats the sort of thing your after & I'll sort out some links.
If your after a standalone satnav I don't know much about them.

I personally would go for a PDA and forget about standalone navigators.
This way you can put on whatever nav software you want and can use it for other things as well.0 -
sounds interesting - what sort of cost would we be looking at for a pda with the sat nav and software etc?0

i've got a tomtom and its brilliant, ive never gone wrong with it, despite my incredible lack of a sense of direction. if you buy them in britain they come with a ready loaded map of britain loaded, but you can buy little chips like sim cards which you pop into the front for different countries.
ive never tried him abroad but he's taken me all over the country back here, no problems (i refer to him as a he because you can choose the voice that directs you and mines called tim haha)Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0 -
