Hi, I got a new contract from phones 4 u on 13/11/09 the phone i got is the new blackberry on vodafone. there seems to be a problem with the phone as the light goes on and off randomly. is it possiable to take it back to the store and ask to have a diff handset and maybe change the contract. so im not asking to cancel the contract but just to change handset and maybe get a higher tariff so i can get more minutes/texts etc.
thank you in advance for replies.

If the handset is faulty you should be able to get a new replacement or an exchange as it has broken within the first 30 days. Take it back to the shop you brought it from and inform them of the problem.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
You will only get an exchange for the same type of phone if there is a problem with it as you signed the contract etc. The only way to change the phone is to buy a new one yourself. To get a higher tariff just ring vodafone and increase your minutes.
hope that helps0 -

Hi tweedie2000,
Sorry for the delay in replying, I hope you have managed to get your phone in working order by now.
If the handset is faulty then you are able to get it exchanged (within 28 days) for a like for like model. If it has been over 28 days then it would need to be sent away for a repair. If you are covered with insurance this is usally free. However you are given a quote before hand if there is going to be any additional costs.
You can always change your tariff by calling customer services on 191 free from your mobile.
Do let me know how you get on.
Merry Christmas!
