not quite...once you've scanned, tick in the box next to the entries listed above (in the list) and then hit Fix Checked

p.s credit to kwikbreaks for picking up my earlier howler :( been so long since I'd turned sys res off, I'd forgot :o

  • have also set up a new restore point and done another full disk cleanup

Would you say that has solved problem haven't yet run avg scan as it takes about an hour and slows things down whilst doing it!
Is there anything else I can do to make computer run smoother?

Do I need to do a full disk cleanup regularly and scan with malwarebytes- how often? I will keep both that and hijack this on my computer

Sorry chocolateteddy off topic but I'm very interested in how you ended up get thanked 1600 times in just 98 post????
  • Also I have just looked in my avg virus vault and the 3 trojans it found are still sitting in there is it a good idea to empty vault?
According to avg as well as the trojan in systemvolumeinformation\restore there was also a trojan in hp\recovery\wizard and hp\bin\processlogger.exe

Would what I have done so far weeded them out as well if they were still there?

Thanks for all your great help I would have been truely stuck withour it

At the moment those vault entries should have been moved to and quarantined within avg's vault. Would be a good idea to delete them now :)

As for how often to do cleanups/scans....I personally do them once a week or less if I suspect a problem...
