    Thanks very much.
I spoke to the CSA today and the ex wife has contacted them as promised and put a halt on the proceedings. The case isn't closed but no further action is being taken by the CSA.

I wish all of you good luck who have to deal through the CSA.
To be honest, how this organisation is still going is beyond me.
There has to be a better way of doing this. I know each case is different, but it only costs so much to keep a child.
If I was to pay the £92 that the calculator came up with... If that was my 50% as my ex wife and I both work full time... Does it really cost £184 per week to keep a child. I think not.

    Regards,

I echo what others have said and agree that this is a good outcome.

£40pw would be a reasonable sum to me.

Hope it all keeps going smoothly for you :D

Thank you for your kind words.
It hasn't all been a bed of roses but that's another story.

Like you said, a very good result of £40 per week. After all, I do have three more of my children living with me.

  • Hi All,

Check out the UK Child Support Calculator App for iPhone, iPod and iPad.

So if we use your figure we get the following report back:
    Calculations Breakdown

    Net weekly income £821

Because there is 1 child the maintenance is calculated for, the percent used 15.0%
And there are 3 children living with non-resident parent, the percent of income that will not be taken into account 25.0%
    Amount before adjustments
    821 X (1 - 25.0%) X 15.0% £92.36
    Amount to pay £92pw / £399pm

Hope you will find it useful like I did.

Make sure that your CSA case is closed otherwise arrears may be building up, and if your ex denies to the CSA that you have paid her anything in our experience the CSA will take her word for it and you will have arrears and have to pay again.
  • Why buy an app when there is a free calculator on the CSA website..?
  • Surely if the case is closed completely and she later contacts them again he will then end up on CSA2 which will crucify him as his costs for travel and working away from home will be ignored. I acknowledge the risk with arrears building up. Did OP get a letter from CSA confirming need for reassessment was no longer present and that nil assessment was continuing?

I think opinions should be judged of by their influences and effects, and if a man holds none that tend to make him less virtuous or more vicious, it may be concluded that he holds none that are dangerous; which I hope is the case with me.
