Hello Folks this is my first visit to this site.

We have purchased a hob that is classed as Commercial Catering Equipment, namely a Cougar Ceramic Hob 6B90.

The power rating is 3 x 3KW using 3 x 13amp sockets.

We also have a 35amp dedicated Crabtree Cooker Point that is unused.

My question is .. Can I connect the Cougar Hob to this supply ?

If so what equipment would you suggest that I use. (Junction boxes)

Regards

Robert

I believe the law has changed such that an amateur should not be doing electrical work in the home other than replacing like for like. TBH it doesn't exactly sound like you know what you are doing - get an electrician in.

Not true. You just have to get it certified under Building Regs effectively

No, because 9KW @ 240 volts will require 37.5A. It doesn't matter how many sockets you spread it across, because you've still only got 1 circuit cable feeding it.
You may be a dedicated DIY'er, but your electrical knowledge is not sufficient to do this kind of work.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

This sounds like the Commercial Hob is a 3 Phase unit and would normally be wired up using a 5 core cable 3 phases, using oversized neutral and earth, since then it may have been 'linked out using three separate cables, 'NOT CLEVER', as stated above get prof advice, as describing it on a forum and actually seeing how it has been modified/tampered with, are very different and could at best cause a fire, at worst....well!!
