Tv with freeview 22"max hd ready

I have received a lot of advice already about HD which I understand more now. The new TV can only be 22" max and have Freeview of course. Today I was about to place an order but then wondered if all these modern TVs have a slot for prerecorded DVDs?

After choosing the TV and getting used to it I intend to get a DVD recorder. Does anyone know of a 22" TV that fits the bill with HD 1080 and any other extras or am I asking too much?

I'm not sure what you mean about the prerecorded DVD bit. Are you buying a TV with a built in DVD player?

There's no need to look for a 22" TV with full HD as you won't notice the difference with that size screen. An HD ready TV will be just fine.

There's no point in buying a TV with a built in DVD player if you intend to then buy a DVD recorder, because you will be able to play your DVD's through the DVD recorder (which is also a DVD player).
TV's with built in DVD players tend to be very small, and on the whole rather cheap and nasty anyway.
No point in buying Full HD at such a small size, below 32" it is not distinguishable from HD Ready.

For that size only worth buying full HD set (ie 1080 P) if you intend to use the TV also as a computer monitor or for a games console.

Thank you everyone, I thought this would be the case. Therefore I will go for the best TV I can get at 22" and forget the rest. Maybe now I can buy a white one I saw on the John Lewis web site as black would not look right in this small bedroom with it's white walls. After that I can get the bells and whistles using the DVD recorder which I was not aware existed a few weeks ago.
