Help! Contacting Orange

Hello

I hope somebody can help.

My husband has a SIM card that he has been paying for at roughly £3 a month for ages, even though it's been years since he had the phone. It's on Orange. He's attempted to cancel it by contacting Orange, but unless you have a mobile number you can't get through their automated system on the phone, or contact them via e-mail. Has anyone got any suggestions how we could cancel this with Orange? I'm  that he still had it in the first place, as he must have been paying for it for at least 4 years past when he stopped using that particular phone. He doesn't just want to cancel the direct debit in case it causes trouble with defaulting on a payment.

Thanks

Assume you mean he has a physical sim card in hand....but not using it and does not know the number?

Stick the sim card into any unlocked mobile - phone someone else and get the number?

As above,.......or just fone your home phone.

If you have caller id, the mobile number will come up. If not, ring 1471 to retrieve the last callers' number.
  • He has 3 orange SIM cards, so doesn't know which one it is. He has tried all of the old mobiles in the house with all of the SIMs and none of them work.

    Thanks for responding though.

Have you tried 07973 100 150? Orange customer services number for monthly customers.
    For pay and go 07973 100 450

As a last resort you could visit an Orange shop http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/selfservice/landing.jsp (page has a lookup for nearest store).
  • He's tried the numbers - both are customer services and require a mobile number. If you hold without entering one it cuts you off. They are unable to continue processing the call!!

I don't know what potential customers are supposed to do.
  • I'm getting him to try ringing a store

    And this one Orange - 0800 079 2222
  • Okay, for future reference - when an automated system asks for a number that you don't have, keep pressing the # key and it will let you through!! :T

    Thanks Oneaday and everyone else.

I despair of him sometimes:rolleyes:. He is now talking to a REAL person at Orange. So it can be done!! Although it doesn't sound like they're getting very far trying to cancel it...
