    Probably just everyone logging on and all the banks that have taken deposists etc. updating. Don't panic.

    Also tara747 no need to worry even if they had gone bust as long as you have less that £50K, invested, if you do it might be prudent to share it about - although have been slatted on the banking boards before for suggesting this. However I feel it is better not to guess what a governent might do if you had more than £50K in an institution that went bust and follow the guarantees, personally!

    Viper - i don't think it is a matter of informing people that they are under a misapprehension that is the problem, but the way it is done!

    That is true, although I would hate to experience it and the wait to get my savings back would be torture!!!!! :o

    Just tried cash machine again and all OK- got money this time!
    Glad this has helped some people.
    Sorry posting here has brassed some people off but I did think here was the best place to warn people as most people use this board.

    Anyway, can a passing mod please move/delete this thread now?
