WARNING: HBOS system down

Sorry, not a grabbit.

Just want to warn people trying to use any of HBOS cards that their banking system is completely down at the minute.

Both DH and I tried using atm this am with no success so went to Halifax branch where there was a queue of people outside. The branch was shut due to technical difficulties and we were told we could not get cash because of this.

Just phoned and CS confirmed that the entire HBOS system is down and no idea how long it will be to get fixed!!!:(

Glad that it was not something wrong specifically with our account but not good as we have no cash. Looks like will be raiding the kids' money boxes!!!

yes just been down local shop both cash machines not woorking cant use credit card in shop but you can get cashback

Yep we wanted to get cash out and cant! The online banking isnt working either :mad:

For goodness sake, the OP was just trying to help! It is a pretty important message- it's saved me driving around looking for cash machines this morning as I need cash out! It's not like it's the usual ''where can I buy this or when is this sale on''!

My guess is he posted it here as it is a high traffic area.

Yes and HBOS bosses are pathological about their system going down - someone's head will roll.

Thank you for this thread (even if some think it's in the wrong place:p) You've put my mind at rest- I called at a TSB atm this morning, to use my Halifax card- was baffled by queue as usually walk straight up to it! Thought my new card didn't work as postie only brought it this morning, (after I left it in Morrisons on Monday... doing the first of my £40 for 5 weeks shops, inc Bailey 1l for a tenner!)
Mind put at rest! Are the cards working in shops?

It definitely has some relevance, imagine someone sees a hot bargain posted here and goes out specially to get it. Only they have to get some money out on the way..... YOUNGE1 has just saved them a trip:beer:
