T-mobile upgrade due 19th Dec

Good morning all!! (well maybe not so good looking at the sky!!)

I have just checked my online T-mobile account and it says I am due an upgrade to my price plan and phone on 19th December this year. Do you know if that means if I want to leave for another network I give my 1 months notice on the 19th Dec or 19th Nov (i.e. Is my contract up on the 19th Dec or just in the last month!?).

Sorry not quite sure how it works!!

I may stay with them if they can offer me the HTC Hero (G2) free on the same contract I am on now, if not I think I will move on.

Thanks for any help

19th Dec is 30 days before contract end I think (based on my contract upgrade date being end of April but my contract is to May 2010).

So if you wanted to give notice it would be on or around 19th Dec.

they may give you a g2 for free but you may also get an iphone if you speak to their 'thinking about leaving t-mobile team' depending how much you spend. If you dont spend a lot each month, the offer won't be available.

    Thanks all,

I spend about £30-35 a month at the moment. I don't really want an iPhone, I would prefer the HTC Hero having messed about on both, I have an iPod already.
  • I imagine you will be able to get the G2 free for £30 - £35 a month ...

In answer to your original question, the 19th December is 30 days before the end of your contract, so you can call and give 30 days notice after this date. If you want you PAC without paying early termination, you're best off waiting until the 19th January though

  • some customers are aoud to do a minimal upgrade 3 months early - so dont be surprised on angry if you call up and one of the agents says your contract doesnt end until19th March 2010 as this sometimes happens. If are are in month 17 though then You can currently get 800 minutes + Unlimted texts + G2 + internet for £30pm or if you dont need as much minutes (i.e 300) you can get it for £25pm // these offers wil only be available when you are in month 17 of 18 or 23 of 24 of your contract. Its annoying but t-mobile let some customers upgrade 3 months early but only allowing a partial amount of money to be spent on the customer. Meaning some handset will come with additional cost and deals online wont be matched until you wait till your full upgrade is due. hope this make sence

t_mob_insider2, thanks for the info. Just looked a little deeper online and it clearly states "contract ends on 19/01/10" so it seems yes the final month begins on 19th Dec this year!! So from what you say I should have no problems getting the HTC.

You have no idea how much I need an upgrade, I currently have the SE C902 and it is without exception the WORST phone I have ever owned!! So bad I am tempted to forgo sending it to a recycling company and just taking it into the garden and smashing it with a hammer!!
  • If your currently paying about £30-£35pm then you should get T-Mobile's version of the Hero no problem.

I've been with them 10 years and tried to get it on the same contract i'm on at the moment £25pm (Flext 30 or 35 can't remeber which) and basically wouldn't budget from £30 so i'm in the process of moving to orange just deciding on which contract - yes i know T-mobile offer 3Gb of data whereas Orange is 500mb :p

im in the same boat my contract ends on the 22nd dec but i can get an upgrade from the 22nd nov so does this mean i need to ask them for one that day or after, and if they dont give me what i want say i am ending my contract when my 12 months are up,will they end it though on the 22nd dec?i dont wanna pay anymore months for the phone after my 12 months are up,but i will if they give me and upgrade and phone i want.
I am after the htc hero g2 and was looking to get 12 months contract which i cant see me getting, but will try.
If i dont take any contract they offer or not give me then i tell them on the nov date to cancel my contract in dec,i suppose i could cancel my direct debit with them to be sure, but when?
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
  • im a new customer who got the hero for £22 per month, 200 mins, unlimited text and internet on an 18 months contract,

so if i were you i would push for a discount too ;)
