Morning All
Hope everyone's feeling a little better this morning whatever the ailment! I'm hoping for an easy day today...I seem to keep hoping this but never turns out that way!
I've been up with DD since six and had a couple of glasses of wine last night with DSIL so the head is a little sore this morning but i enjoyed it so won't complain!
Have not really done anything energetic as of yet but I have checked the bank on line and moved money around, done a little christmas shopping on line and reserved some items in Argos for DD which i'll go and get today when I drop DS1 off at work. DS2 has had a really bad cold all week (he's claiming swine flu i'm thinking more like man flu!) so I don't think he'll move much today and DH is out with his dad and BIL tonight and getting collected at 5:30 so it will be a quiet night for me (hopefully!!)
OS cooking was a bit lax this week - had busy evenings so we ended up with a couple of chippy tea's.....Oh the shame!! but DH actually pleaded for a return to slow cooker dinners next week as he's really enjoying them - he really has jumped on the OS money saving band wagon nicely
Need to do a meal plan for this week and my shopping list and I'll do the shopping when I take DS1 out then hopefully (there's that word again:rotfl:) I can stay in snuggly and warm for the rest of the day and watch trashy christmas movies on sky with the kids ...happy days:smileyhea

Morning all
I've been up since 7, honest guv, but all I've managed to do is drink copious amounts of tea.
DD phoned me yesterday, she was obviously upset, so she came to work & sat on reception with me till 6, we then went on to a Vie party, she asked if she could come along as she loves their products. She spent £65 so the hostess was very pleased. We then came home & chatted for a couple of hours, she was feeling better when she left.
I didn't get to bed til 1 so am only firing on 2 cylinders today, I'd planned a lazy day today so that's fine. I need to check the freezer & make next weeks meal plan but that will be all the OS stuff for today.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Chums ,well my sore and croaky throat has developed into a nasty cold so I'm not going to stick my nose outside the door today I have lots of catch-up t.v. to watch whilst I do some blanket knitting for the Linus Charity so thaat should keep me busy.If I feel a bit better this afternoon I may make some of those mini christmas cakes in the bean tins .
Its my eldest DGS's birthday today he is 19 and a lovely lad to boot.he is waiting to hear if he has got the job he had his second interview for on Wednesday. His girl friend Chloe has to wait until the end of next week to find out if the local plods will take her on as a community police officer .It would be great if they both got a job at the same time .Danny still works in our local Argus part-time, as he has since going to college, he says it keeps his car on the road, and he is a good lad and doesn't waste money he hasn't got.
Right I'm off to have some hot coffee and some porrige that should warm me up a bit.The weather is damp and wet here at the moment with high winds so I shall stay in the warm.My DD is coming for coffee at 10.30 and to pick up Danny's present.Hope everyone has a good day and <<hugs >> to those who feel poorly or downhearted

:hello: Morning all! Glad everyone seems ok so far! Wind has dropped a lot, though it's raining hard now and we had some thunder and lightning a little while ago. We put gaffa tape on the door knocker and letterbox last night so the wind banging them wouldn't keep waking us up, so I got up earlier and took the tape off the letterbox the went back to bed. I was then woken by the postman tapping on the door as there were a couple of packets that wouldn't go through the letterbox, so I thought I may as well stay up.
mioliere - Sorry I missed the news about your sister. Best wishes to her.
Diva Sorry to hear Tris is in so much pain
Haribo - Glad you're back - we missed you! I think Aussie is busy this week as she has her DGS staying. I haven't heard from Churchie but hopefully she is just very busy.
Hester - i hope you manage to get some rest today.
Smokybabe hope you're okay hon, you haven't posted lately!
CRANKY I had a chuckle over George and Father Christmas. It reminded me of once when i was out with my niece - she was 7 and I was 16 - and she asked me if Father Christmas was real. I thought "Oh help!" as I wasn't sure what to say and wasn't sure if her parents would be annoyed if I disillusioned her. So I said "Of course he is - how else do you think your presents get there?" "Oh," she said, with an embarrassed giggle, "I thought it was your Mum and Dad put them there!" In the end I told her she was right, but made her promise not to tell her little sister. That worked well. as she enjoyed sharing the secret.
(((HUGS))) to all in need xx0 -

Morning all. Busy week for me, so not been on here much, and haven't read the threads since I posted the other day (think that was tuesday!).
It was DD 11th Birthday on Thursday. Made a very tasty birthday cake, which we took with us to the Snow Dome in Milton Keynes where her and 2 mates went ice tubing (and even better it was paid for with tesco deals!). They had a great time, and she loved all her presents (especially the tickets to see Jonas Brothers in concert next Tuesday!).
She is currently at swimming, although I had a hard time persuading her to get out of bed this morning. She has decided she wants to give up, they have a new coach who she isn't too keen on. I have said she has to keep doing it til Christmas, and am hoping she changes her mind. Its really good exercise, and she has been enjoying it til recently. I don't want to force to keep doing it though if she doesn't enjoy it. Not sure what to do really.
Anyway, will have a catch up on here before going to collect her.
N9eav - I love Dominos pizza too, try not to indulge too often though as trying to diet! Do you get a police discount? We get 50% off which is great!

Good morning all, regarding the wig, might be better to stay in today LOL! A Hood Day I think! Still very windy here and been quite stormy overnight as everywhere. Hope you're all safe and dry.
Ma Boys (DH and DS) have gone off to Youth Orchestra, dh is a helper and ds playing. I'm enjoying the fact that as I'm not on the committee any more and the big exchange is over I don't need to go. So I'm being a total slob, sitting here in jamas with the SAD lamp and laptop and a cup of tea! Marvellous!
I'm feeling much less tired now. Thanks to all those that sent good wishes. I'm never going to feel that brilliant in the winter, but I think today is going to be a good day. I've decided that it's one of those where anything that gets done is a bonus. I fancy a cooking day, so will do some baking and make a nice curry or something for tonight. Will do that from what we have in, as I'm trying to do some freezer clearance. That is going quite well.
Need some cakes for one thing and another and have dead bananas languishing in the freezer, so that's the plan. Big bag of dates from graves last week. sounds good to me. Not sure what else I shall make.
Have a lovely day all, going to fetch another cuppa. This is the life!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning Guys!
Very blowy and wet here. My joints are killing me with the damp and have put the heating up a little. Nurse has been so meds kicking in.
Got Sirloin (reduced), Colcannon, Garlic Bread (TTD reduced to 10p) and corn on cobs with salad for dinner...yummy. Also got some Beef Doubre that I made a while ago out the freezer for neighbour, so will give them a little mash with it as they arent eating properly atm.
DD away till tea time, so very quiet here atm.
Hope all is well.
Hugs to all.
