Good luck in getting a response, I emailed them at the beginning of the week to ask if I could take an online purchase back to a Sportsdirect store for a refund, so far no response.
And if they turn out to be less than reputable, I will make sure people know about it.
In fact shoppers should be warned off by your experience alone. Don't buy from Sports Direct unless you are happy to be ignored when you have a problem.0 -
I bought a pair of Crocs from them in the summer, they sent me the wrong size, I was able to exhange them in a store. Not sure about refunds though, bought some sports clothes from them once, tried to get a refund, they told me "only exchanges" maybe its different though with online orders as there is a distance selling law which does not apply with instore purchases.0

Anything you order online, you are entitled to a full refund so long as it is returned in its original condition. As another poster said, its part of the distance selling regs and I believe its within 7 days. Same applies if you sign up to anything on your doorstep I think. You will get your money back but I guess its down to the individual company on how promptly that will happen. I just waited over a month for a refund from carphone warehouse. They hadn't even dispatched the item as I cancelled over the phone before they dispatched but they still took my money! Good luck.0

Thanks. I suppose I'll just have to send them back when they arrive and go for the refund. I originally intended to return them and then order again now that I know where the discount code is supposed to go, but I can't be bothered with a company that's happy to ignore it's customers. And I'm certainly not going to pay double the amount I was offered the trainers for!
I just wonder now if Sports Direct will similarly ignore my request for a refund?
What could I do about it if they do?0 -
As mentioned you are entitled to a refund if returned unused within the time limit. The internet based company is run as a seperate business to the high street stores and therefore you will be unable to get a refund from a store, this is not breaking any laws.
If you purchase an item from a store and then decide you no longer want it then unfortunatley you are not entitled to a refund but the stores are more than happy to offer an exchange or credit note, in the form of a gift voucher. Faulty items are refundable upon production of proof of purchase (and unlike alot of companys sports direct, the one in Ipswich anyway, do attempt to help find receipts for people who have lost them if you can provide a date of purchase or other items purchased at the same time, on their data base)
If you hadnt guessed i do work for Sports Direct and am proud to do so.0
