Mind you as none of these supposed guardians work 100% I guess it's fine for you to all carry on.
How is blocking an ip breaching copyright??
As it happens, peerblock with the correct lists is very useful
Not least of which it can prevent known hackers from scanning ports
It can also stop known spam ips etc:idea:0 -
Maybe so but as I am sure you are aware it's main use is with bittorrent clients to block known RIAA IPs from download from your session.0

As its known to help with anti spam, anti hacking etc I think it would be very useful to post here
using peerblock ALONE is not doing anything dodgy at all:idea:0 -
There are lots of different blocking lists available (not just of anti-p2p companies).kwikbreaks wrote: »I thought discussing methods of breaching copyright were banned here?

You can block people connecting through anonymity proxies, through known bad addresses, etc. Also not all P2P is copyrighted files.
But yeah, I think they are mostly use for a little extra protection when downloading copyrighted material. How effective they actually are is another topic

as already said peer guardian has many uses but perhaps you have a guilty conscience.
what you do in your spare time is your business kwik

I never have used torrents so no guilty conscience here.
I also resent your implication and if this were a face to face meeting you'd be in absolutely no doubt just how much I resent it.0 -
Fight! Fight! Fight!0

sorry kwik I really didnt mean to upset you, but I also resent your imlication that as I asked a question about peerguardian then I must be talking about torrents and breaching copyright laws, so I guess were quits0

There's a sort of clue in the name what the main use is.
I really don't care what you use it for but the most usual usage is in connection with attempting to avoid getting caught downloading copyright material and as I said discussions along those lines are not permitted here.0
