i mean really gone to uni, moved away from home same as you would if you went at 18?
now i'm 28 i look back and wonder what i've done in 10 years and i now wish i'd gone to uni straight after doing a-levels. even if i wasnt 100% sure on what course to do.
i've got a property, but i haven't got a great job and have little chance of getting anything better without qualifications/training.
i also have the same small handful of friends i've had since school. i do wonder if i'd have met a new group of uni friends and become associated with a new town instead of being stuck here.

I went to university at the age of 25 (many others are much older). It's never too late...0

I went to college at 28 to do an HNC. I wasn't even half the age of the oldest guy in the class. I then did an HND the following year and was again decades younger than the oldest class member. Now I'm at uni aged 30 and no closer to being the oldest in my class. Uni has people of all ages and backgrounds and worrying about age is a waste of time to be honest.0

I didn't do the whole uni thing either although I did move well away from home and got a job. I started doing my MSc 2 1/2 years ago and was one of the youngest in my class (I was 27).
There are quite a few part time degrees so that you could keep working at the same time. Although you may not be living at uni but you'd still meet lots of new people and you could always try a new area by looking for new jobs in a wider area once you have the qualification you want.
Evening classes at your local college are worth a look too.
What do you have to lose?0 -
Agree with Oldernotwiser it's never too late.
Speaking as someone who went back aged 35! And yes it was worth it - had to convince people that I could do my course by having a recent qualification before entry (so 5 years of study for me).
Yes things/people/ etc will be different BUT grab life with both hands. It may not be the 'easy' option, you have people here to give you support.

I moved away from my home town and went to uni at 30, as a single parent with a mortgage. My sister went at 28, and my cousin and bil both went in their 30's. Without wxception we have all said it was the best thing we have ever done, not just for our careers, but for the whole experience of being at uni.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

I went at 34 as a single parent. Best decision of my life. No more dead end job prospects, met a whole new group of likeminded friends and just fell totally in love with learning. I love Uni, the only thing is, I'm starting to get a bit worried about having to leave......Come ride with me, through the veins of history...
I'll show you how God falls asleep on the job.
