A pair of pumps?...what are they?
BTW as you have not purchased the item, I suspect you have no rights as you are not the buyer.

There no right to return non faulty goods(expect for distance selling)
Even if have a receipt if you check the small print it always state we can refuse a refund but I digress.

Now if you get a bank statement they may be willing sort something out in good will but they have no obligation to do so.

Is that what the law says? That you must comply with the retailer's policy?

More likely it is enough for a court to enforce if you can show you bought it from the retailer.

The law doesn't require anything from a retailer when the items are not faulty.

I find it extremely unlikely that they didn't give him a receipt, it just doesn't happen, especially if he paid by card.

I did not get a receipt from Bravissimo yesterday, but that was because the assistant and I were so busy talking (about boobs!) that it was overlooked. I realised a few minutes after leaving and returned, and the receipt was still there on the counter (in a pretty little presentation card!).

I also recall (in my younger years) friends doing their best to distract the assistants at Burger King, because if they did not give you a receipt the meal was free. They often succeeded!

I would say that it is rare, but sometimes receipts are not given to the customer, the SA's are only human! ;)
    Gone ... or have I?
