I canceled my contract with 3, they sent me a final bill for just under £3 for the last like 2 days before my no ported out, used to pay by direct debit but they seem to have canceled it last month, anyway they sent me this £3ish bill but on the bill it says by not paying by direct debit you have to pay £3 non direct debit charge - seems a bit silly cos my bills under £3 and i cant really set up a direct debit for the one transaction,
in orange you dont have pay the £3 charge if you pay in store anyone know if its the same with 3? they say they do charge you if you pay over the phone
basicaly any way to pay the bill without the non direct debit charge,
i cant even ring them cos my 3 phones finished and the nearest store adds over 30min to my journy and i get home late as it is, dont want to go there if they cant help

Send them a cheque, maybe they would have banking charges and it would not be worth their while.

I had exactly the same. My numbers were ported over late last month with a few days over the billing cycle. Although it says they have added the £3 for not paying by DD I suspect they haven't. My guess is that is standard text for a bill not paid by DD, although they have actually cancelled your DD and not charged you the £3 admin charge.

I had 2 accounts with them and the other was in credit by 99p! Work that one out if you can.

Look at the breakdown on your bill. It should become apparent then.

As the above poster says - send them a cheque for the total amount. This will NOT include the £3. That's exactly what I did and they are not getting a penny more from me.
