Wedding Venues in London, any recommendations?

Hi
we got married a couple of years ago at Chelsea Reg Office - was lovely. We had our reception in the garden room at Julies
http://www.juliesrestaurant.com/welcome.htm
It was absolutely brilliant - couldn't fault it. We decided to have a mixed menu on the day that people could choose what they wanted, and the food was excellent. It cost about £50 per head including some drinks. We had the garden room seats 30,because as it was a heat wave, they could draw back the roof so it was open to the skies. Everything was perfect.... You would need to find out about numbers, I know there are several rooms.
For the evening we just had a room at a local pub, and that worked very well.
WE then went to the Portobello Hotel for our wedding night.

Which is owned by same people, so we got a discount on the room. This hotel is one of the hidden secrets of london. Many of the stars go there. It quite small and private but we loved it. We had Room 16 - The wedding room,
Which has a circular bed and a victorian bathing machine in the room as well. It was so unusual and special - that is about £200+ per night, but I wouldn't have missed it. (Apparently Brad Pitt used it before us lol)
The advantage is that all these venues are fairly close together, so not loads of travelling. For your guests there is a big Travel Lodge on the A40 about 15 minutes away by car or taxi, so very convenient. Also for daytime there is plenty for your guests to do in local area, Portobello Market is just 5 minutes away, and plenty of shopping on Kings Road.
Hope this helps

thanks so much for this one, it will definately be added to our list of considerations- what a lovely setting

Keep em coming :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I went to a fab wedding at the RSA off the Strand, it was one of the most memorable venues I've ever been to (and according to my friend one of the most reasonably priced ones in London!)http://weddingstodreamof.org.uk/0

Went to my friends wedding last July in the courtrooms of Browns, covent garden.
Don't know about costs, but I think it was by far the cheapest option they looked at.

A friend of mine married in St. Martin-in-the-Fields off Trafalgar Square - a whole 17 years ago now!!!
. I rather think that choosing this London landmark was more about making the event special for guests rather than the couple themselves - they would've been quite happy with a civil wedding at a registry office. Anyway, this sticks out in my mind as one of the most memorable weddings I've been to. It was a lovely sunny day and the bride looked stunning as she stepped out of the vintage white Rolls against the backdrop of the pigeons and fountains of Trafalgar Square...
Is there a venue that is special to you? The RSA one, perhaps?
Congratulations :T0
