Perhaps one of the troll detectives could explain exactly how they know without a shadow of a doubt that a poster is a troll ?

There is always a shadow of a doubt but in this case, don't you think the username is a giveaway?

There is no proof either way other that is rather bizzare post, odd username, and rather offensive remark on certain people

    1. It might be a giveaway or it might just be the OP taking a literary reference for a username. It is not unusual for first time posters to seek inspiration for their username form their problem.
    2. The problem is FAR more interesting than the debate as to whether the OP is trolling.

DVardysShadow said it isnt "OP is not winding anyone up" They must be right
I qualified that with AFAICS, so I did not say "OP is not winding anyone up" as fact but as opinion. And quite clearly too.

I'm beginning to get really offended at all this troll business. I dont have the time to write petty posts just to provoke a response. I have an 8 month old baby, and im not particulary happy with my boyfriend working nights all them time, which is why I posted to try and get some helpful advice

    Dear Delilah,

Shall I spell it out (don't think I need to but here it goes...?) The reason for "this troll business" is your user name. Delilah is a biblical figure who cut off her boyfriend's hair and he lost all his strength and power as a result. 666 is the sign of the devil. Put them together and you see why we don't know if to believe you. Is your boyfriend called Samson by any chance ?
  • I have had this username for years now, and have used it on many other fourms before and have never ever had this backlash. If you think I am a troll then surely a better response would have been to ignore my original post thus stopping my apparent attempt to get attention, rather than posting your silly graphics and posts which make you look, to be honest, rather immature.

I think its rather baffling why some of you would think I would take the time to make this up, and I really never intended to offend anyone with anything I said.

Thanks to all those people who gave helpful advice, my boyfriend is working tonight and is going to try and find out what is specifically wrong with his hair, and if appropriate, what he can do to change it . He has only worked there 2 months, due to losing his previous job in the recession, so doesnt really want to make too much of a fuss.
  • Oh and i completely agree that it is a random coincidence between my name and the nature of my post, but I can link you to other forums where i have used this username.

I must remember to check out the hair style of the person serving in the garage before I fill up......it might put me off my...erm petrol!!!
This is silly, I think it is discrimination and I do not beleive that origninal post should have been made into something it is not....it is someone genuinelly asking for advice.....hope my user name does not upset/offend anyone

    Happy days
  • Getting back to the issue you raised, get him to write down exactly what was said and when. Then I would suggest he asks the manager why his hair is seen as a problem in the day and not at night and I would write down the answers very carefully - dated and timed.
Feed back here on what the response was.

It seems that people are more intrested in the fact you might be a 'troll' (whatever that is) than helping you with your question. I don't see why you'd ask a perfectly reasonable question if you are a 'troll'.

I'd also like to add that i use the word half cast?... whats the problem with it?

I'm guessing they would rather him work evenings than day times, as theres more people in on the sunday day time than evening.

To be honest i agree in saying thats discriminating.. is there someone in charge of his boss?.. like is it a chain petrol station?.. if there is he should defintly talk with them.. if not maybe contact the careers advice beauro or a union.

To be honest i can't believe how pathetic and childish some people can be on this forum.
If you think the OP is a 'troll', simple move on from this thread and don't post in it. Ignore the OP and get on with your life.
