FYI the BBC said yesterday on bank charges reclaiming:
' But if the banks follow their track record to date, they are likely to appeal against any ruling made by the OFT. That could mean a whole new round of legal action, lasting for years.
One government source has told the BBC that the case might therefore continue until 2015 or so.'
I've never read the reclaim boards on this website but you probably have an idea of how expectant people with debts are of receiving a quick payout. Will you be ready with support if there is disappointment?0 -

I try not to read too much journalism because there has been a lot of incorrect stuff written on the whole process. 2015 imho is not realistic but it should be a legal process and not political.0 -
You didn't answer my question. What do you mean 2015 isn't realistic? Do you think there are a lot of people depending on the notion that they will have a payout before Xmas, which may or may not be the case?0

The first part of the case has taken more or less 18 months from the time the first case begun. It is unlikely to take 5 years of litigation to cover all remaining matters through the court system. Furthermore, I would bet my life on there being no payouts(exception is financial hardship cases) before Christmas this year.0 -

Yes, there will no blanket payouts before Xmas.oakhouse13 wrote: »Do you think there are a lot of people depending on the notion that they will have a payout before Xmas, which may or may not be the case?
Those people who are depending on immediate refunds are those who only read the 'John and Mary' guides in the popular press0 -

You would have to be naive in the extreme to pay any attention to a media article that gives unattributed and unsubstantiated estimates as to how long the test case process would take.0 -
Is this website connected to Martin Lewis who appears in the media, the picture on this website is the same as this person who, for example said he could taste victory in August.

I'm not understanding the distinction you're making?0 -

Firstly you misquoted him as he said he can ''almost'' taste victory.
Does this give any indication whatsover as to when he thinks the test case process will be concluded? And does it in any way perpetuate the notion of refunds before Christmas?0 -
What would you say someone like Dawn Cunnington, from Kidderminster in the West Midlands would understand almost tasting victory to be? I haven't followed this case. What does almost tasting victory mean?0
