Well i am looking forward to the summer, i find i get all motivated with the sunshine and it means the kids can soak up lots of fresh air.

This year we will be busy decorating and doing a massive clean and sort out. Plus we have the garden to do and the kids will be getting involved in all of that.

We also have alot of woods and fields and fantastic parks near us so we will be spending alot of time there having plenty of free fun and picnics.

The kids club at the cinema will mean a few great days out and we have a few beaches near us ( spent some time there this half term) so again a few day trips planned there.

Also living a train away from London means we will spend a few days up there going to all the free festivals and exhibtions and museums, we went to the springwatch festival on saturday and it was so much fun, what was even better was that the MIL paid for the tickets so i didn't spend a penny.

We will also be going up to Edinburgh during the summer hols but as i will be staying with my Parents that won't cost me much either.

So i think it is just a matter of keeping your eyes and ears peeled, looking around your area and a little outside of it and being really creative, which is really what we all do anyway here on DFW LOL.

The only real cost i can see is that all of the kids need some summer clothes but i have already found some great bargains in primark and tescos and Asda so is hould get them all kitted out for a reasonable price, especially with the careful use of vouchers.

I am actually looking forward more to this summer hols than i have for a long while. Usually we do a few big expensive days out and not a lot else, since coming on here i am enjoying the challenge of still working towards that DFW goal, whilst still making life as enjoyable as possible.

As you know I am not really thinking about summer at the moment. I have become so mean that Ijust dont spend any money. the only thing it means to me is that I dont have to have the heating on and I can hang the washing out on the line. I am not miserable but am looking forward to better times.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
