Will Summer Undo Lots of DFW Work?

Done all our summer clothes spending for the 5 of us although do still have to get DS2 new shoes/sandels. We also have all our camping gear bought for our holiday though had most of it already. SO we are pretty much set up for summer just need to pay for the campsite (£80) when we go and petrol for the holiday which will be a big expense - I reckon we'll be spending around £150. A tankful to get there, a tank to use to travel around and a tank back, hopefully it will be less though and we will be checking out the local buses if there are any! Really don't want to continue a spend, spend, spend mindset through the summer and I won't!!! Microsoft Money says I can't afford it either!Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

So when is the River festival again? (Sods law it clashes with the free stuff I want to see at the Peterborough Festival...!)

Hey everyone,
I just moved into my house late last year and, now that the weather is warmer, I am so tempted to spend A FORTUNE in the garden centre making the garden look pretty so we can lots of lovely evenings out there, just chilling - so civilised. I would buy plants and bark chips and log roll and paint for the gate and buy a hammock and a table and chairs etc etc.
It is also very tempting to spend money on barbecues (butcher just up the road does lovely burgers and sausages) and bottles of wine/beer.
I've also got 2 weeks off work which I'd like to really use (so I'm not so miserable all the time). We can go to cheap places but then you've got the petrol/train cost and to buy an ice cream or a drink - aarrrgggh! Its so much easier to save and be good in the winter.
I could really do with some cheap summer clothes too.
Boo hoo

Yeah, sadly the whole holiday thing is yet another keeping up with the Joneses issue. There seems to be some sort of competition amongst the office staff over who is going on the flashest, most expensive holiday. You never know if people really can afford it or if it's going on the CC, but it's annoying nonetheless.
I don't plan on going away this year but I have a few days out and long weekends planned. I hope the weather at the moment lasts all week, as I'm off work this week too!DFW Nerd 0350 -
LA - do you drive? You have Stamford up the road (I used to live there and work in P'boro) - lovely river and little streets to look round and Rutland water not too much further.

Hi in*the*red
Yes I can drive & I am on a very convenient bus route for Stamford as well. It is a lovely town isn't it? I'd love to live there.
Rutland Water - yes that's a good idea. I haven't been there for a while either. Always nice to wander around and have an ice cream - yum!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Chelltune, how can you say Corby is dull? All that dodging samurai swords is v exciting (from an exCorbyite!)A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
