Hi Folks
Just wondering if I've missed something whilst I've slept.
Got the B&Q kitchen range brochure, Summer 2009, and was looking at replacement doors.
Total price £242, just got 15% off voucher, so thought I would use it.
Went online, not sure why (?), and the prices are more than double the brochure !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rang B&Q customer services, who confirmed online price, and had no explanation for brochure price.
Nice bloke is getting someone to ring me to explain further.
Top B&Q person will still be getting an e-mail from me asking why the difference.
And I suppose I won't be able to get my doors at the cheaper price ?
Harumph !!

The only reason I keep smiling is so that people wonder what I've been up to !!

That's just what B&Q do.
Next month or sometime in the future they will be selling the doors at your old summer 2009 brochure price showing a 50% saving.
And people still fall for it and think they are getting a good deal!0 -
As stated - wait a month and get them at the cheaper price in the "not quite January" sale.
In order to advertise them as being in a sale they have to be at the higher price for a certain period, but there is nothing stopping them giving out a 15% off general voucher during the non sale period to stop sales drying up completely.

Same happened last autumn . They appear to have a period during the autumn when their prices are double on kitchens...though of course the wording they use is it's "half price" the rest of the year! It's all designed to make you think your getting a good deal in their "sales" at christmas and the new year...then make you think your still getting a bargain when they claim to extend the sale through to the summer!
I'd go elsewhere and not support their underhanded sales scam!0 -
Do Homebase do this too? Their recent 'sale' ended in Oct (50% off with a further 30% off and then 10% with a discount card). Prices have gone back up sort of to just 50% off, I missed the boat on that one, we'll be looking to buy within the next few weeks and to start the work just after Christmas, so would it be a good idea to wait until after Christmas, will there be better deals to be had?? I only ask because I've seen a Homebase kitchen I really like!0
