thanks everyone..just to update
rang consumer direct

they told me to write quoting what was wrong ie list and send recorded del quoting that he was in breach of the sale of goods act..(missing bits etc) and the distance selling regs ( no paperwork del details etc) and to ask him to come and collect the engine and give full refund and give him 7 days to do it

did all this no reply

range cons direct again ...told to write again send rec del and requote saying no further notice of legal action


hey presto he rang and followed up with a letter and has arranged collection of the engine and when he gets it will give a full refund...

engine collected yesterday awaiting refund..

will update again
