Urban myth I fear. I stayed the last two nights at washington on the £1 deal and that was it! Reception asked for proof of identidy and I asked if I could pay the £2 in cash...the receptionist said they preferred this.

I was very impressed with the hotel. And will use them again and pay the proper price!

Well I got a pdf confirmation through email, which makes everything quite clear i.e. £1 for the room.

I decided not to go because it would have cost me a fortune just to get there so I was put off. Would have liked to take advantage but hey they can take me pound.

Just out of interest, the receptionist on my last visit mentioned that they did not even bother collecting the £1 for a no-show as the card fee was more than this.

Certainly the best promotion that I have ever seen.
