Asda Smart Price Curry Sauce - 12p

asda smart price curry sauce - its only 12p so for a laugh i picked it up along with a more expensive brand.

got it home and thought i would open it and dip my finger in.......... its amazing! its like the curry sauce you get in chip shops!

surely the jar alone must be 10p which is a little worrying but ive stocked up!

used my iceland frozen cooked diced chicken breast - which again is fantastic quality and really tasty - and added the jar. Along with chips it went down very nicely!

i always buy it, my kids love it with veg added and loads of rice, smartprice of course.

yes, it was 4p, then went up to 5p.

I always have it and the kids and OH do not know the difference from that one to the ones they charge well over £1 for:D never had a complaint

I bought a jar a few months back, it was 12p in my Asda then.

What I like about it costing 12p is that if you go to the chippy you can have curry sauce for 75p, but I'd get the chips and then nuke 1/4 of a jar when I got home instead. Still got 3/4s to make various curries over the next 3 days too.

I also do that with mushy peas, buy chips and nuke my own mushy peas.

Little wins ... little wins.

Where abouts in ASDA is the curry sauce? I keep reading about 4p curry sauce in other supermarkets, and have occasionally looked in ASDA but can never see any. My efforts are usually concentrated around the Pateks etc. Also, are we talking tins or jars?

I should stop being so shy and ask someone :-)

They are with the other jars of curry but usually right at the bottom and towards the back ,the front row sells pretty quickly

After reading about these sauces I got one in Sainsburys - Think it was 12p? We had chicken fried rice and chips last weekend but rather than paying a quid for curry sauce had a 1/3 of a jar on. yumm! Rest of jar emptied into tub in freezer and empty jar waiting to be filled with HM chutney. super
