That's a good deal! I bought several bags of the dry food when it was on half price offer in the supermarkets and my cats loved it! Not tried the wet yet! Will do now though! :D

Well, considering it's a vet that has designed this food, it's hardly likely to be rubbish now is it! ;)

It's all perfectly natural products :)

    Here you go ... http://www.petskitchen.co.uk/information/?id=Ingredients

In fact I'm surprised none of the pro-natural evangelists on the boards don't promote it more often as it probably is one of the best and most cost effective foods available, as well as being easily accessible from the supermarket :D

oh i don't know, i wouldn't say the ingredients in hills are that great

thanks for the link but it doesn't actually say what in that list is in their foods and if they contain grains then they are no good to me :(
i'm not all that keen on feeding foods which contain rice either.

i've never heard of it before, which supermarkets sell it do you know?
next time we go shopping i'll see if i can find it so i can see exactly what's in it to see if it would be suitable for our 2 monsters :)

I wasn't aware that Hills was designed and produced by a vet, unless you're mistaking it for Burns

If you read the list it states which ingredients are in the food Joe produces, as well as offering an education on all other major ingredients you'd commonly find in commercial pet food. If you dig a little deeper you'll find a full ingredients/analysis for each product listed :)

Most major supermarkets stock it, i.e. Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury et al.

It says 'Veterinary Formulated' on the packaging so i assumed, sorry if i got that wrong :o

Well it said on a few of them that their foods contain it but it wasn't clear to me on all of them if they were ingredients or not, i thought i'd ask as you said you've bought it before so might know that is all.
I've given up looking on their site, too tired :o

I have found a list of ingredients for the dry chicken food though:
    • Fresh chicken (min 26%)
    • Poultry meat meal
    • Rice (min 26%)
    • Maize
    • Chicken fat
    • Egg powder
    • Fish meal
    • Sugar beet pulp
    • Yeasts
    • Minerals
    • Vitamins
That one is no good for us as our 2 are sensitive to maize and i think i'd rather to stick to the biscuits we use which contain more meat.

Thanks for the info though, i shall see if i can find any of their wet foods in the shops and see if that is suitable

But it is money-saving which is why you posted the thread, isn't it? ;)

Even when not on offer it competes very well with Burns on price and has almost identical ingredients :D

The one advantage it does have is that it's widely available in supermarkets, which Burns isn't ... yet!

Tescos dont stock it any more ( I used to feed Percy the Joe and Jacks - but I cant afford to any more. complete !!!!!!,cos he looked amazing on it and LOVED it, but even buying it at their "retailer" price (you just register with them and they let you buy it at a discounted price) I cant afford to keep him on it.
Id often pick up the odd one or two in tescos when i was in there, in the hope that they would register the sales and keep it on - but they have decided to ditch most of their "real"/"natural" pet foods - and only keep the really popular ( ie not so good !) ones now.

Think you can still get it in Waitrose though - so they will probably sell the cat one too
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

Oh, I didn't realise Tesco had stopped selling it. I wonder why?!

That's where I first discovered it last year as it was on half price offer at the time, around £2.20 for a 1kg bag, I think.

I haven't looked at the price of dog food for a long time so no idea how they all compare with each other, sorry :(
