Is the extra charge to pay the postie danger money in certain areas? :0)My broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0 -
If you report the advert to the safety centre they will pull it on the basis of the Paypal surcharge.
But re the £4 postage and packing.. I don't think that is unusually excessive. How much p&p would you pay if you purchased them on an online golf shop?DFW Nerd 0350 -
I've reported some of his items for the paypal surcharge.
Lets hope this idiot learns to abide by the rules. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -

I dont think the 4 quid is excessive, could have been 2.99 but hey what scorn the guy for trying to make a little cash on the postage.
As for the Paypal 3% - !!!!!! Turpin - hang him lol
Cant beleive it went for nearly £13.00

you cant believe the item sold for that ammount. i would only pay 99p for them, anyway, since i lost my head cover i have emailed taylormade direct to see if they will replace it. In my opinion they will because it is good customer relations as there are loads of golf products out there. i got a golf club reshafted when it broke for free so i guess i will get this tooAll the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

Well done mate. Now he'll just increase his postage costs even more to make up for it so those of us that choose not to use paypal anymore will also have to pay more.
It amazes me that people would call someone an idiot simply for trying to cover his costs or for breaking a rule that has been made in the interest of paypal alone and not the buyer or seller.0 -

Timmy,
We are money savers on this forum we don't delibeately set out to break terms and conditions that we agreed to when we signed up.
If you have a problem with ebay and its policies the simple answer is not to use them.
As for the seller being an idiot, what else would you call a seller who doesn't understand the plain English terms he agreed to when he set up, and more importantly, is likely to lose himself vast amounts of money when a) he starts getting his auctions pulled by ebay b) he loses customers as the surcharge puts them off and c) he loses any seller protection he has as that is lost the moment you surcharge.
Ebay can be difficult enough as it is as I'm sure many sellers would agree, why put off huge amounts of bidders with a silly 3% surcharge?

Well I can't speak for the seller in question but when I joined ebay and paypal they were seperate companys and the rule about surcharging didn't exist. This was only introduced when ebay took over paypal and it seems to me it was introduced for the benefit of ebay/paypal and no one else.
The way I see it is if surcharging was aloud then there would be a lot more sellers offereing paypal to those that want to pay for the convenience and at the same time, those of you who are either making enough profit to cover the fees or simply want to shift stuff with minimal hassle can offer free paypal just like 'the good old days'. Of course if ebay/paypal allowed this then it would encourage buyers to use alternative free payment methods such as Bank Transfer which is almost as quick (and free from chargebacks) which of course eats into their profits.
I have been buying and selling on ebay for 5 years and as a buyer I'm more than happy for sellers to surcharge as being a money saver I will just pay another way that's free. I personally have just stopped offering Paypal as an option in my sales because of chargebacks anyway.
I can't understand why so many people think that because it's now 'in the rules' that it's fair. This is a money savers forum and I can't see how this rule is in the interest of anyone other than ebay/paypal themselves.
As far as the 'idiot' buyer having auctions pulled and losing seller protection, again that's down to this one rule.0
