Suzuki swift owners

Options
So I bought a brand new suzuki swift, 3 years ago

So far every year they have sent me a letter regarding Urgent Safety Recalls!

1st Recall - Hand brake cable, maybe come loose and therefore stopping it working

2nd Recall - Wrong protecion on light in boot, can build up with condensation and catch fire

3rd Recall, incorrect coating on luggage compartment are, and could corrode seat belt anchors, which can weaken and fracrute during crash and clearly not work

My nearest repairer is 40miles from me and I have already been there not long ago the fix the second recall,
I appreciate they are doign what they can do solve the issue but thats 2 trips at 40 miles each way, totalling 160miles at my expense to fix their problems, anyone think I should email them about this?

Reason I bought a new car is, I was a young driver and wanted a safe car and benefits of 3 years free mot, well seems I got that 3 years free MOT but thats about it, wonder how many more recalls there will be

Is it still within the warranty period? If so, having it serviced elsewhere will invalidate the warranty.

Following intervention by OFT in 2004 this is no longer the case. You are free to have the car serviced by an independent without any effect on the warranty. provided the service is carried out to the manufacturers recommendations.

I love the swift, but they should sort their issues out, dont see why customers should pay to travel/take time off work to sort out their mistakes, I wouldnt mind as there used to be a dealer in Cambridge, where I live to fix

Now I have to go to peterborough and back

As long as your vehicle is serviced to main dealer standards, using parts as good as, or better than those used by main dealers, and the book gets stamped, you can have your vehicle serviced anywhere without affecting the warranty.

Very few cars dont end up with recalls on them. In the vast majority of cases they are sorted at services.

The faults you state wouldnt exactly have me in any rush to go out my way to get it done.

Think your reaction is slightly OTT

My reaction I woudnt consider as OTT, the faults I state are faults they consider urgent, and want to sort asap.

I understand they might be sorted at services, but like I mentioned earlier I am not getting it serviced at suzuki
