Vodafone - 12month contract, only get discount for 9 months?
Hey all,
I'm on a 12 month SIM only plan with Vodafone (ends in December) - checking my most recent bill shows the price has increased by approximately £20.
I phoned Vodafone and they explained the discounts are only for 9 months which leaves the other 3 months open for contract re-negotiation?
Now can anyone explain this to me?
Thanks,
Leon

Not sure what you can do but Voda seem to have habit of this discounts being for a limited period.
You might want to ask them to lower your tariff by one rung - you can normally reduce by £5 a month. Then phone them and tell them you will be leaving in December and want a PAC code as a direct result of them charging you this extra £20.
They might budge at that point and offer you a retention deal with a phone but dont take anything unless its dirt cheap.0 -
Now I know replying to my own thread is naughty but I think I found the answer:

Do all of the networks do this?0 -
Ask for PAC code but do not cancel your direct debit I say (that might lead to the sun falling out of the sky or a bad credit history).0

Same happened to me too. I remember them telling me that the half price tariff would end 3 months before the contract was due to end but it was OK as they would contact me and sort out a new deal (a new 12 month contract). I'm happy with this as I intend (at the moment) to renew my contract with Vodafone anyway. I can see this being a problem if you don't.0

Just phoned Vodafone and they have refunded the money

However, they won't extend my existing sim only deal (they will only offer half price line rental no free internet
) guess it's time to request my PAC.... 0
