Excellent discs, I get them for 22p over the counter in a local PC store, use them for everything.
Its not worth saving an extra Xp per disc to have stuff rot after months.
Ridisc Xtreme 8x + Pioneer 110D burner, heaven.
I wouldnt touch those Sonys, they use a wide range of dye, pot luck.0 -

You need to find out which media works best on your dvd burner. My cheapo nec drive gets on well with datawrite grey discs (fuji dye), and burns g04/g05 more slowly. You can get trial media packs from suppliers to test out on your burner.
Biased towards their own brands of media you will probably find
P.S despite what people are saying, Ritek G05 may look fine at first but good luck trying to read them in a year or two. I have just had to send back some because of the terrible QC and am now moving to the Taiyo Yuden media from https://www.svp.co.uk - 30p maybe, but much higher quality and lifespan.
Just my opinion

I agree, my assumptions of the G05 dye are incorrect.
Looking on forums that discuss the matter in great deal, it seems RiDisc made a booboo with their new dye and the G04 dye did in fact produce better results than that of the G05.
As I said, because I bulk ordered, I still have G04s left over and haven't ever had to try any others but assuming G05 dye is good because G04 was isn't too clever after all.
Taiyo Yuden dyes have a good name but I'll still stand by my comments that it depends hugely on what burner you have.
You need to work out what is best for you and stick to it.
Look out for reviews on sites such as:

and forum chatter on sites such as videohelp.com

Thanks for this - it works out at £5.00 per 25 discs and i find that great value for fairly good disks.0

I have to say I have been using these Sonys for quite a few months now too. they are flawless and I will never ever go back to using another brand, they are so reliable. I have had many other 'brands' over the past couple of years and never found one of them to be 100%. Just to add my 2pence worth. Thanks to the original poster - Sony brand at that price is a good offer period.
However I have been using various cheapo brands with my pioneer 107 without any problems for a couple of years now (except Hi-Space DVD-R which I returned to amazon as 1 in 4 failed to write to)
What I am interested in finding out is - has anybody actually experienced dvd rot?
The only discs I have written to that dont work now are ones that have been damaged or had a printed label stuck on it.0 -
Mine delivered this morning.
However only 100 arrived so have tried to contact Play.com by phone on 0845 800 1020 with no luck. So have emailed at info@play.com.
One last thing i was sent 16x not 8x speed discs ( not that it matters to me ).It`s getting to the point0 -
Did you put 3 in the basket? You have to, the price then changes to £9.99 each.
