  • Yeah, well, something like that! ;)

    I was being diplomatic!

Thanks SH, it all adds up
  • Hooray hoorah what a great day! Just got back and in need of a glass of something. I checked out £10.30 from one of my scratchies this morning and when I got home there was a letter from NHS pensions telling me they need to refund me £1137 !!!:j:T:eek::j from overpaying my contributions when I worked for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j:j:j

So, half f that will go off the CC and half into our savings pot (six months worth and all that). Just about makes our goal of being DF possible in the time we've allocated!

Also, OH said he wanted to take me out for supper and to the local pub quiz on Monday, then this evening he has said, maybe I'll cook then we'll come to the pub quiz, it will be cheaper that way. I almost fell off my seat!!

Yep - it's often safest that way! ;)

Excellent news on your pension refund - that'll be a heck of a boost to your target won't it, and it's great that you can use some for savings too. Excelent news on OH as well - is he seeing the light on the MSE front do you think? It took a while with mine, but he's about there now, I think! :rotfl:

Great news on the pension refund - I got one recently from a previous company and it has been a lifesaver - we've been living off it recently!

Glad your OH is seeing the light at last!

  • He has really impressed me this week, two storecupboard suppers (he nearly always cooks) and a very frugal shop today! "let's see if we can make this stretch for nine days rather than seven". Ok darling, whatever you say....!

well done to OH - it is great when they get on board. I was shattered today and left OH to go to church with the kids by himself - he came home after with pork and chicken for dinner... I'd cooked some lamb - anyway but at least he showed some initiative. Means tomorrows food is sorted as well as todays!

OH is impressed how much can be paid off without even trying to cut down our outgoings anymore, we are pretty frugal as it is. I'm so so so chuffed with how I've done!

I mad HM fish pie tonight and it smells lovely, off out to the pub quiz after that! Our little treat.:rotfl:
