eBay shop

Hey,
I'm considering opening an eBay shop as I am going to be selling loads of goods soon. I've been selling various items around the house on eBay for some time now, but now I am going to concentrate on one market which I think has potential. And from what I understand, an eBay shop will save me a lot of money on fees. However, I read somewhere that eBay shop items do not appear in the main search results.
I was just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with regards to an eBay shop, and would do they recommend it? Plus, is it hard to set up and run?
Any information would be helpful,
Cheers.

eBay shop listings appear at the end of searches. It's much better than it used to be because before potential buyers could only view your products when they looked at your shop but now having them appear at the end of searches is great

If you are selling a lot of items then an eBay shop is definately a good idea.
Initially it may take a little time to set-up depending on the number of items you have to list and how many categories you will require. To maintain an eBay shop is fairly easy.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Thanks for that. Really helpful.
Just one more thing. If I list an item, will it always displayed in my shop too? Or, could I sell something totally different to my main items that I do not want to be in my shop.

If you have an eBay shop then all your items will appear in the shop regardless of whether you want them to or not. If you want to list an item that is in no way related to your usual shop items just create a category called 'Other' and list it there. That way it won't interfere with your 'real' shop items.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

When you create a listing and have a shop you have the option to put the shop category that you want the item to go in.
Fees on normal auctions are the same, but basic listing fees for shops are 5p per listing for 30 days duration and as said above shop listings appear at the end of normal listings.
I used to sell everything in auctions and my listing fees were an absolute fortune. Since the change earlier this year my ebat fees have fallen drastically

Ok, thanks a lot for the info. I reckon I will definitely go for an eBay shop then. Picked up all the goods today, so all ready to sell in a couple of weeks time.
As current eBay shop owners, are there any tips you can provide me please?

Organize your shop well. Ensure all relevant products are placed into the correct category.
Make your shop user friendly.
Use a template that makes your shop look professional and allow customers to easily identify you.

Thanks. Do eBay provide templates? If they do, that will be really useful.0 -
Yes eBay do provide templates but you can also design your own if you know how or alternatively buy one if you want.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Sorry, lost here!
I also am looking at opening a shop, but have only ever sold as auctions before. I can see the shop costs £6 a month, but if there is no reduction on auction fees then why is it worth the £6? Does the shop mean you pay less as a BIN? Or does it mean that you can stick everything on as 30 days and it is then reduced?
It is probably really obvious and I've just managed to confuse myself!0 -
