Just looking at the Crawfordsburn inn Online.
Looks very nice, had never heard of it before. For those of you who have been is it a little cramped? We will have around 120 people attending which is their maxium. I cant see on the plans a stage or somewhere a band could be situated?
Regards.

The Crawfordsburn Inn in my opinion is very cramped. I have been to several there and to be fair all were very enjoyable, no complaints at all about staff, food, service. The setting too is lovely and on a gret day you can get lovely pictures. Its just that the function room downstairs is very cramped. You need to take into account the fact that you may be having more people in the evening too and where do they go?
What about Clandeboye Lodge - or even Clandeboye estate?0 -
Having looked at the Crawfordsburn Inn over the weekend it is indeed very cramped. We also looked at Galgorm Manor and that looks really really nice. Prices start from £29 pp.

I've always found the Crawfordsburn Inn very cramped unless it's a small wedding. I've given up looking for a hotel for our reception because they're too expensive and I don't think the value for money is there. I'm having ours in a RFC and I reckon it's going to cost 50% of what it would have in a hotel. My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Congrats on Engagement.
My wife and I came back from living in England in Summer 2005 to get married. (We now live back "HOME") We had our wedding reception in the Manor House at Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Cultra. All I can say is it WAS the best day of my life. The venue was lovely, the staff fantastic and as the wedding was in October, with all the winter leaves on the trees, the photo's where spectacular. Annie, the lady in charge was just Brilliant, she will just go with he flow and pretty much work to what you want. (NOT What we found when we went to see other venues, as they liked to do things "THEIR WAY") The meal was fantastic and we had Irish Stew at night instead of Sandwiches etc (One Of Annie's suggestions) It went down a storm. Everyone commented on what a great idea it was. (Too good actually as some of the "greedy guests" went back for seconds and indeed thirds so it left some folk who were still out dancing without - The phrase "Stretch or starve" definitely applied here)
A brilliant night and I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0 -
I live near the Beechlawn Hotel and have to say it has gone downhill. Even having a meal at the bar was a disapointment for me - I have also heard they buy in pre-packed food and heat it up rather than a chef cooking from scratch. It is a real pity as four years ago the food was gorgeous and would have went quite regular.Norn Iron Club Member No 1050
