Wedding reception venue recommendations

Hi all, we're looking to book our wedding reception for 2007 soon, and I was wondering if anyone out there has any good recommendations for hotels or otherwise in the Co. Down, Belfast or Antrim area? The wedding will be in Loughbrickland, but my fiancee is from Glengormley, so somewhere in between the two would be nice. And cheap is always good, seeing as we're both still studying at the moment.
At the mo we've got our eye on the Seagoe, Templeton and La Mon House, but things may change when we actually visit and discover the prices.
Thanks!
Andrew

My niece was both married and had her reception at the Templeton in July past. Very good service, but no idea of price. All the best for the future.0

I know this place I mention is not in the area you want - but it wasn't for us either. I was incensed at the terms some of the places we tried to book put on us having our wedding at their premises - the cherry on the cake was the 'room charge' which it seems all hostelries seem to charge - £900 a certain establishment wanted from us, before any thing else was taken into consideration.
We ended up going to Lusty Beg in Fermanagh - they didn't have this rip-off charge - room totally free - and were extremely reasonably priced about everything else. It is a stunning location (maybe you know it) and has cheap accommodation for your guests.
If you want any approximate prices for what we paid pm me.sufferinsnickerinrickrastadley0 -
A good place to check out is the Balmoral, Warrenpoint. I've been 2 quite a few weddings there and they were all great. Food & service and the price of course! It has recently been done up as well so it's looking really well.0

Avoid the Hilton beside the Lagan in Belfast as well.0

No idea about price on this one but I have been to wedding receptions in Galgorm Manor in Ballymena and the food was delicious and hot and the staff so attentive, they went out of their way to ensure the whole wedding party wanted for nothing. It really made the day. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yeah, we were at a reception in the Galgorm last year, and it was great! We loved the grounds, and the food was very decent. And she caught the bouquet too, hence our current predicament, I suppose! It is a little far away, but it's certainly an option, thanks!

When my hubby and I got married many moons ago (1984) we had our reception in the Culloden near Cultra which we was quite a distance away from Lisburn where we both lived. My thoughts at the time were that the limos where expensive enough and I wanted to to get our money's worth out of them, besides it was nice sitting there in all our finery being chauffered like Lord and Lady Muck. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. galgrom and templeton both very good was at both last year didn't hear a bad word from anyone also the ross park was very good as well.
Was at the culudon was ok but money was not a problem if you get my drift wedding party treated like royality but the guests like sh**e.
word of warning though i have a friend who works in belfast castle they are almost booked out right though to 2009 for all the popular dates most of the other big name venues will be the same.
p.s can't recommend the castle both on price and service.0 -
I got married at the end of november, we had our reception in the Clandeboye in Bangor. To be honest I found it hard to fault them everything worked out really well for us. The food the staff etc. They have recently done the whole place up... However I think they have put there prices up since the work. We were lucky and booked before they changed their price structure.
