I've found that the milk in lidl goes off quicker.. goes quite sour.

Me too. I buy it for work, and find that it rarely lasts the week, whereas Sainsburys would last 10 days plus.

Still it is good value, even though it has gone up to £1.09 last week.

Semi skimmed is just watered down (ok not technically but it may as well be ) full fat ,so how do they justify the price being the same ?
Now we just buy a 4 pinter full fat for 99p (netto ,lidl ,farmfoods etc )
Dilute with water to fill a six pint bottle
Et viola 6 pints of milk ,not discernible from semi skimmed for 99p !!

All milk is around 86% water.

'Full fat' milk is about 4% fat and semi-skimmed is around 2% fat, it is just the fat they are removing, you still have milk.

    I prefer skimmed milk myself.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • in lidl/aldi if someone decides they don't want their milk/chilled product after all at the till, it sits for a while before someone manages to put it back. if you have milk that goes off before the best before date from there - that's likely what's happened.

Are shops allowed to do that? I would have thought it was a health risk and therefore against the law. How do they know how long it has been out of the fridge.
