I've had problems in the past with Lidl milk going 'off' quickly (despite a 'use by' date being several days ahead). I think this may be due to poor stock control - i.e not enough room in the fridge, so it's left out for longer than it should be, then put on the shop floor - similar to leaving it our of the fridge at home. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Sainsburys 1% milk is £1 for 4 litres too. Nice orange top.0

Semi skimmed is just watered down (ok not technically but it may as well be ) full fat ,so how do they justify the price being the same ?
Now we just buy a 4 pinter full fat for 99p (netto ,lidl ,farmfoods etc )
Dilute with water to fill a six pint bottle
Et viola 6 pints of milk ,not discernible from semi skimmed for 99p !!0 -

I used to deliver milk to Lidil distribution centers, before Lidl went to Dairy Crest to make their milk and cream products. I can tell you that there stock control is extreamly tough, if the lorry load was 1 degree out the whole load would be refused. Which is more than can be said for certain other supermarkets ive delivered to.0 -
The Arla green 2% milk in my Morrisons is always £1, but my nearest Asda only ever have the purple 1% in for that price, sometimes it's 75p as mentioned above.
I don't buy whole milk so haven't ever noticed if that's ever cheaper. I guess i'll find out when i start weaning baby!0 -
I've found that the milk in lidl goes off quicker.. goes quite sour.0

This may be true in their distribution centres, but let's just say I used to work for a waste management company, and some of our sales guys were asked to look at helping some Lidls stores reduce their waste - the stock management they observed would make your hair curl! Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
in lidl/aldi if someone decides they don't want their milk/chilled product after all at the till, it sits for a while before someone manages to put it back. if you have milk that goes off before the best before date from there - that's likely what's happened.0
