  • I think any equity in the house would be swallowed up by the debt. I can't go bankrupt whilst I have the house.
Sorry folks - having a scared moment. Ignore me.

Why don't you phone around some of the estate agents and ask them to do some valuations. I know you don't really want to sell up but at least you will know and help you make a more informed choice should you need to.

Bookie, we will not ignore you its good to talk these things through even if no one has the answers. I am sure you can go BR with the house but they will take it as an asset. But surely if the bank will take it anyway  thinking about it if the bank take the house and you say it wont cover all your debt surely gong BR would be a better solution because then all the debt would be wiped? I dont know how you would feel about it though... Maybe you should speak to Cab

Why dont you pop onto the BR board - they are friendly and helpful - plus they've all been through it so will help you stop feeling so ashamed (because you've no reason to you know!)

There's no shame at all Bookie - you're a victim of the global economic crisis, you didn't set out to get into this mess did you!!

Hope the catering goes well - rather you than me!

Not sure where today's gone, didn't have the energy to take DH out today but we did order his new chair so it should make things easier.

DD2 is having real issues with her skin at the moment - all these hormones are playing havock with it and she's so greasy and spotty.....any advice would be welcomed.....we've tried a tea-tree face wash and then a wipe over with witch hazel afterwards but within an hour the grease is back.

I bet if you asked them, it would be quite the opposite. You had the initiative to have your own business, brought up your children whilst working, and then had the courage to know when to close the shop, which was not your fault - there has been a recession on.

Meanwhile you are always there to help your daughters, the brownies and the church.

I don't think they would be ashamed of you at all, would you be ashamed of them if it was the other way round?

I've run out of them really.
I think the bank are going to take the house and I've run out of energy to fight anymore. I seem to be running around in circle doing things for other people. I just wish I had someone to look after me for a change.
    I'm a selfish cow really.

On another note we appear to be having a monsoon outside. Lovely for driving around country lanes.

I so wish there was something I could do or say.
I see where you are coming from in wishing you had someone to look after you.
& no you are not a selfish cow.
