Currently have a Sony Ericsson c902 since April 09, various problems with it. Returned phone to t-mobile last week, they sent it to their repair centre. Picked up phone today to be told no repair done as "Damage to main board caused by obvious mis-use"
Main board is within an area of the phone NOT accessible by me.
T-mobile spoke to Sony Ericsson and they won't touch it as T-mobile repair centre has voided the warranty!
Please advise similar issue and how it was resolved?

They would need to give a bit more of a reason than obvious misuse, the phone could well have been damaged when you received it and after 6 months use a fault occurred, after looking at the phone they could have seen damage unrelated to your fault and blamed it on that.
As you say you have no access to the mainboard, so unless you took it apart i fail to see what you could have done. If they claim water damage though it will be a uphill battle as there are many threads on here about water damage issues even though they phone have never been incontact with water.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Water damage was never mentioned. Assistant manager spoke to the repair centre, as they supplied a photo with no damage being evident. Repair centre agree damage cannot be seen on photo and say a corner on main board has been damaged due to it been dropped. Surprising that the outer case of the phone is not cracked or damaged but yet an internal component is?????
Shop will not exchange as it was bought from another main T-mobile shop0 -
Give http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ a call, ask them for advice.
State they say that the main board has been damaged by it being apparently dropped. However the case is intact showing the phone has not been dropped and damaged. They are refusing to repair or replace the phone.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
