PAYG Blackberry question

I'm thinking about getting a Blackberry off ebay or an online refurb store. If I use my payg sim, will I be able to access the internet & email?

Comments

  • Not 100% sure, i believe BB's need to run on BB servers to have access to the blackberry mail and other functions. On PAYG you might find the internet and push email rather expensive, so a contract might be more suitable.

Can i ask why you are after a blackberry, it might not be the most suitable phone for you if you intend to use it as PAYG.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

You will not need to contact RIM. You need to go to your PAYG carrier and tell them that you need the Blackberry APN added and Blackberry Tariff. This normally equates to about £10 per month on PAYG.
  • Thanks for the answers.

Maybe I should get the LG GW300 instead.
  • As per Omens post, think it's only £5 a month with Orange.
This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.
  • You also need to make sure the seller has removed it from his/her Blackberry Internet Server and if it was a company phone it needs the IT policy to be removed.
