How many miles do you get for £10?

I recently changed cars from a 1.1 Saxo to a 1.2 Clio, both are old cars, 1996.

I'm really feeling a difference in fuel consumption already though...

I've done 160 miles in the Clio out of £20, but i can't say exactly that it's 80 miles per £10 as i'm not sure how big the reserve is but my light is back on

Pretty sure i got loads more out of the Saxo and prices haven't changed much in the last few weeks have they?

Don't feel too bad, thats nearly double what I get.:rotfl: (admittedly I do have to run on super u/l)
  • 10 miles per litre.
A litres £1.05 for diesel? So £10.50 per 100 miles?

£21 will get me 200 miles. So around 190 miles for £20.

£10 will get me 121 miles in my 15 year old Passat estate 1.9tdi with 220k on the clock (but it has not been serviced for 4 years so this could be why I am down to 58mpg!)

It's not a V6 - the site doesn't allow "normal" 4 cylinder diesel Mondeos or it might be a user error on my part!

Well prices have gone up about 5p per litre in the past few weeks.
  • A tenner will get us roughly 100 miles in my husband's 1.2L 2001 Punto.

I've only had my Micra a couple of days and not gone very far so don't know the mpg yet, but I filled it up when I got it and the needle hasn't budged from full yet and I've probably done about 20 miles.
  • using "until the fuel light comes on" is a waste of time when comparing mpg

its like asking two different people to walk until they are tired

fill up, do 100 miles then fill up again, work out your mpg that way
