Windows 98 is not supported by most if not all isps now.0

Does the Virgin Media have any programs that you needed to install (ie: CDs)?
Sometimes you need to log on through a separate program.0 -

We need much more info to help!
Win98 works perfect on any ADSL/cable signal from anyone as long as you have a working ethernet connection.
How are you connected? Is there a firewall on the machine?0 -

Jemma-T has hit the nail on the head - not enough info for any intelligent suggestions and how it is being connected is the key.
If it's a USB modem there will almost certainly be driver issues but ethernet should just work on default settings if the router was set up correctly.0 -

Have a free thanks on me, mis-clicked, LOL, as others have said, we need more info.
Just for a starter, IF you are connecting without a router, i.e.directly through the VM modem you need to reboot the modem, when you connect the Win98 PC.
FYI, I have VM cable and have re-installed Win98 on a PC and even downloaded all the old updates.
But it was made easier because I connect via a router.Move along, nothing to see.0
