Dial-a-phone cashback by redemption questions:
Options
High!.;-)
My current cashback by redemption offer with Phones4U just finished (successfully claimed -very happy!) and I want to get a new deal on 12 months contract as the shorter the better (?) + new customers usually get better deals.
Looking at the market I can see that happy days of generous 12 months offers are gone (?) but need to shop around to get the best what I can.
ATM I’m with Vodafone but would like to cancel rolling contract and use Dial-a-phone cashback by redemption offer as read that they are not making any problems with claiming money back (?). My contract will most probably be with Vodafone as they’ve got the best deals on 12 mo contracts signed through topcashback.co.uk Dial-a-phone offers £50 cashback through them as well.
My questions are therefore as follows:
1) Is it possible to ring Voda and “port” my number within the network (move the number onto the new contract? -And will it invalidate the cashback by redemption offer with dial-a-phone?
2) I hope claiming cashback through topcashback won’t invalidate cashbacks by redemption with DAP or the other way round?
3) Will cancelling an insurance (that comes as an addon) invalidate cashbacks with DAP?
Thanks for your advise!

1) [strike]Some places do not allow porting to vodafone, so do check that dail-a-phone allow you to port your number to a new vodafone contract.[/strike]Porting to Vodafone
We currently only support number porting when transferring to T-mobile, Orange, Three, O2 and BT Mobile, but not Vodafone.
You can't port from Vodafone to Vodafone, its a 'back door upgrade port' or something named like that, there is a name for it, but it can't be done. You would have to port to a PAYG on a different network and then port back to vodafone on the new contract. This stops you making us for new customer deals unless you go through the hassle of porting to a different network first.Mobile_Mole wrote: »A PAC can be used to transfer a number whilst remaining on the same network as long as you are changing service provider.
A PAC allows you to do any of the following.- Change Network and Service Provider at the same time
- Remain on the same Network and change Service Provider
- Change Network and remain with the same Service Provider
2) I did dial-a-phone via RPoints and it worked just fine, i got all my cashback
3) Insurance is separate to the contract and can be cancelled without affecting the cashback, as the cashback comes from the phone contract not the insurance. If its a high value phone, get the insurance.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Could you tell me what is a difference between service provider and a network?0

I believe i would be correct in saying that Vodafone, 02, Orange, T-Mobile, 3 are networks.
Service providers would be "Vodafone, 02, Orange, T-Mobile, 3" & Tesco, ASDA, Virgin Media, BT, etc.
Much like ADSL is on a BT network of phone lines, you have different internet service providers.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Oh, yeah true.
So I understand that even if I ring them up and press them very hard (starting from that I am a loyal Voda customer, stayed on the network and blah blah and then moving to more serious methods) I won't be able to do anything? -It is all within their network.
If the above won't work I've got another issue:
21/10/2009 I've asked for PAC from Voda (telling that I'm not happy to continue on a rolling contract) and it is written that if it won't be used everything will stay the same.
Can I ring them and make them to disconnect me on 21/11? -as per my original request?
