  • The EWL just came on in my micra and I have had it for 2 weeks :o I'm dreading it is the old timing chain problem, but it has only done 40,000 miles. I have got 3 months warranty but will this cover it?
  • Unless the engine sounds like a bag of spanners rattling around, I have been told that it isn't the timing chain. But don't take my word for it. Have a computer reading taken. Mine is only 40,000 and normally the chain is read at 80,000 plus. Whether it's covered or not is debatable. If it is a non-service item then apparently it's not covered. In my opinion it is a design fault but Nissan won't take any responsibility unless you have full service history and had oil changes at every 6,000 miles - a cop out if you ask me.

i had a major breakdown on the day of trade in with my last car-
the clutch burned out on my way to the dealership.

the dealer split the repair cost 50/50 with me
(although the aa man said he'd never had to tow a car for trade in before)
